Meet the Team

Maya Gross MD, MPH
Maya is a current PGY-6 gynecologic oncology fellow at the University of Washington. She is a Pacific Northwest Transplant after completing her medical school at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA, and residency at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In her first two years of fellowship, when not working on the podcast, Maya is conducting research on disparities in gynecologic oncology, with a focus on patients with Limited English Proficiency. Outside of work, you can find her hiking or jogging her way around the PNW.

Sydney Oesch MD
Sydney is a PGY-6 gynecologic oncology fellow at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. She is a native Texan, born and raised in Dallas, TX, and went to undergrad at the University of Texas at Austin. Hook ‘em, Howdy, and Yeehaw. She did her medical school training and residency at UT Southwestern/Parkland Hospital in Dallas. During her research year, she studied how a protein called ZNF451 functions in DNA repair, and how it may be targetable for conferring sensitivity to chemotherapy. She spends all of her other time snuggling her two puppies, cooking with her husband, and trying all the oysters Charleston has to offer.

Brogan Brown
Brogan is a fourth-year medical student at MUSC. She has in interest in access to healthcare, community health education & the health humanities. Outside of medical school she enjoys running, exploring Charleston & learning about urbanism.

Skye Jacobson
Skye is a fourth year medical student at MUSC. She has an interest in research pertaining to health literacy and access to cancer screening. When she’s not studying, you can find her taking photos or buying new records to complete her collection.

Kilee Knight
Kilee is a second year medical student at MUSC. She enjoys research in lifestyle medicine, and improving maternal mental health. Outside of hitting the books, she loves caring for her dog, Sadie; reading fantasy novels; and collecting little momentos to put in her scrapbook.
